UK Export Finance

Trade Finance Manager and Bank Portal

  • Trade Finance Manager (TFM) is a service used by UK Export Finance staff to manage new financial deals and facilities. It supports the General Export Facility (GEF), a product allowing banks to apply for government finance on behalf of exporters
  • I was working on the alpha and beta phases to deliver 2 new services: the external Bank Portal that allows banks to report utilisation of GEF facilities and payments made by exporters; and a feature of TFM that enables reconciling those payments internally
  • I was the Interaction Designer working in a small, but well formed, multi-discipline Agile delivery team
  • I used the GOV.UK Prototype Kit to design and build fully interactive end-to-end prototypes to test with the internal and external users and iterate the designs based on their feedback
  • The prototypes were also valuable in show and tells to stakeholders and internal staff
